Dovery Manor Museum, Doverhay, Porlock, Somerset, TA24 8QB. United Kingdom
The powerfully evocative exhibition reflects Clare’s involvement in Exmoor’s farming year and its people. The exhibition encapsulates the delights and the hardships of animal husbandry and the care of the land; it juxtaposes Clare’s farming life with her creative work.
The strong visual impact and vibrancy of Clare’s stained glass and paintings fill the museum’s solar with light and colour; the felted landscape ‘Woolhenge’ provides a stunning focal point.
Clare is a member of The Somerset Guild of Craftsmen and is a Freeman of the City of London, enabling her to have the ancient right to drive her flock across London Bridge; she is keen to encourage the licensing of pain relief in sheep.
