At the historic village of Porlock, in the Exmoor National Park, UK
It would not be at all possible for Dovery Manor Museum to open its doors to the public without the dedicated and enthusiastic support of our Stewards.
We are eternally grateful to the most efficient Mrs Vi Martin who coordinates the staffing of the museum and its rota.
The stewards volunteer their time, usually in slots of one and threequarter hours, on a rota system.
Stewarding at the museum is a most rewarding experience, allowing individuals to meet new people and contribute to something special in the village.
Many stewards take advantage of their time at the museum to extend their own knowledge using the large amount of material which is available.
If you would like to become a Steward at Dovery Manor Museum, please do make contact.
We will not be able to open for significant periods of the week for the 2018 summer season, unless we can recruit some new Stewards to greet visitors, and oversee the museum while it is open.
QUESTION 1:- Can you spare 1 & 3/4 hours each week to fill a regular spot in the Stewards Roster?
QUESTION 2:- Would you like the opportunity to meet visitors from all over the world?
QUESTION 3:- Would you like to help visitors leave with a positive experience of the museum, Porlock, and have learnt something of our local history?
QUESTION 4:- Would you like to contribute to the future of this lovely little village museum? We know it's not the Royal Victoria & Albert, but it is 'OUR' small contribution to acknowledge the history of this wonderful place.
QUESTION 5:- (optional) Can you bring ideas that might be considered by the museum to help develop the future of the museum?
If you can answer some or all of these questions, we would love to hear from you.
PLEASE CONTACT asap via the 'Contact' page. We will get in touch as soon as we can....thank you.
