It would not be at all possible for Dovery Manor Museum to open it's doors to the public without the dedicated and enthusiastic support of our Stewards.
We are eternally grateful to the most efficient Mrs Vi Martin who coordinates the staffing of the museum and it's rota.
The stewards volunteer their time, usually in slots of one and threequarter hours, on a rota system. Stewarding at the museum is a most rewarding experience, allowing individuals to meet new people and contribute to something special in the village. Many stewards take advantage of their time at the museum to extend their own knowledge using the large amount of material which is available.

Urgent request for voluntary stewards
We are currently looking for more people who are able to spare a little time to join our team of Stewards at the museum.
At present we have 42 Stewards who come in on a regular basis during each month of museum opening. We also have an extensive reserve list.
Ideally it would be great if we could recruit 2 people who would be willing to commit to stewarding once a fortnight for 1 3/4 hrs, and 1 person who could steward once a month on a Saturday for 2 hrs.
We will open again at Easter 2017.
If you do feel able to help, or know of someone who might be interested, please contact the Stewards Co-ordinator, Mrs Vi Martin ( 01643-863238 ), or by using the contact form on the 'Contact' page
