150th anniversary of Lorna Doone
The museum is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the
publication of R.D. Blackmore's novel Lorna Doone. The
novel is set in the lovely Oare valley and the wild and
remote areas of Exmoor. Since it was first published it
has never been out of print and over the years there have
been films, plays and television adaptations of the novel.

Christine de Vere Hunt and the Museum Players present a dramatic evening.
Tickets are £5, which includes wine & canapés before the performance and coffee & chocolates with the cast afterwards.
Available at the Visitor Centre. Early booking is advisable.

The museum will open for the season and will feature a
new exhibition in the Solar 'At the Centre of Things' which
will chart the history of one of the village's oldest dwellings
and the trades that sprang up around it.

Rosemary Gray will be speaking about her and Tim Gray's research into the history of the Cape House.
Tickets can be purchased from the Visitor Centre or the Museum for £2, which includes tea and biscuits.
